• Development of an Aluminum-ion Battery at Fraunhofer IISB

  The status of the development of an aluminum-ion battery at Fraunhofer IISB will be presented. This lithium-free cell chemistry is characterized in particular by high charging rates > 100 C and cycle stabilities > 20 000 with charging efficiency > 90 %. Due to the corrosiveness of the electrolyte, the current challenge is the development of a long-term stable cell concept.
   
• Customized Lithium-ion Battery Cells

  The further development of lithium-ion battery cell components enables the broad adoption of electric vehicles and their continuous further development, but also the use of electric power trains in many other industries. Since CUSTOMCELLS is active in these different industries, we are familiar with the requirements for cells and cell components, but we also know about the challenges of industrializing these cells. The basic requirements for battery materials will be presented, and in particular the requirements for cell development, industrialization and production.
