Bavarian Japanese Chips Partnership (BJCP)

Motivation

Japan is Bavaria's second most important Asian trading partner, while Bavaria is now a stronghold of Japanese companies in Germany with around 450 Japanese branches and around 8,000 Japanese living here.

The joint project ‘Bavarian Japanese Chips Partnership’ links the two key economic sectors of semiconductors and mobility!
 

Scope and Aims of the project

The cross-cluster project is intended to promote the exchange between companies, universities and research institutions in both nations, initiate development cooperation and lay the foundations through a strengthened intercontinental network so that the cooperation will continue beyond the duration of the project.

The topic of promoting young talents is also to be considered within the framework of this project.

Specific project objectives:

• Informing Bavarian companies about technology trends/activities in Japan/Asia, esp. in the fields of semiconductors & automotive
   
• Establishing/intensifying contacts on each side (‘expert networks’)
   
• Inquiry of trends and concrete development needs
   
• Initiation of corresponding, transnational development projects in the sectors of semiconductors & mobility
   
• Exchange of strategies for promoting young talent
